O lance mais bisonho da partida ocorreu nos minutos finais. David Alaba, capitão da Seleção Austríaca e jogador do Bayern de Munique, recebeu a bola do goleiro Robert Almer na área defensiva, e teve a ideia de recuar a bola novamente para o guarda-redes.

Só que Alaba não contava com o fato de que Almer estava fora do gol. Mesmo correndo e dando um carrinho, o goleiro não conseguiu evitar o gol contra. No entanto, a partida não teve mais gols, e a Áustria saiu vitoriosa.
