The ZL1 1LE’s time is quick enough to place it 13.56 seconds ahead of the Camaro ZL1 with 10-speed automatic that Chevrolet tested last year.

Corridas de carros puxando trailers não são novidade. Em Silverstone, por exemplo, já existem registros nos anos 1970. O episódio 8 da temporada 22 do programa Top Gear teve um desafio entre SUVs em que uma das etapas era uma corrida em que os veículos puxaram trailers.

Então, para promover o Grande Prêmio da Áustria de Fórmula 1, a ser realizado no dia 9 de julho, os pilotos da Red Bull Racing, Daniel Ricciardo e Max Verstappen, foram para o Red Bull Racing, a bordo de dois Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, rebocados por trailers, e apostaram uma corrida.

O resultado não poderia ser outro: disputas de espaço, destruição de trailers e muitas risadas!

Quando finalmente o primeiro motorista começa a trafegar, o da frente começa a fazer brake tests com o de trás, e continua a realizar outras idiotices ao volante.

Enfim, quando ambos esperam o semáforo ficar verde e dobram à esquerda, o motorista do Camaro perde o controle, sai da pista e para de pé em um poste telefônico.

Um instant karma que foi totalmente registrado pela câmera que estava instalada no carro do motorista que vinha atrás. Se ele apenas contasse o que aconteceu, seria praticamente impossível acreditar.

Veja o carro de Courtney Force explodir durante etapa do NHRA


Durante o New England Nationals, etapa válida pela temporada 2017 do campeonato estadunidense de arrancadas NHRA, no New England Dragway, Epping, o carro de Courtney Force explodiu, arrancando quase que completamente a bolha de fibra que envolve o veículo.

Apenas o chassi e a parte mecânica restaram. Apesar do enorme susto, a piloto saiu caminhando do carro.

Muita gente não conhece Nelson Piquet Souto Maior. Só que o próprio deu uma ideia de quem é. Foi numa palestra que ele concedeu em 2013 para alunos adolescentes do Colégio Dom Pedro II, em Brasília.

Os primeiros cursos que ele fez no SENAI, o primeiro trabalho em uma oficina, o início no Kart, as primeiras corridas no exterior, até os três campeonatos mundiais de Fórmula 1. Inclusive, algumas dificuldades que ele teve e ninguém imaginava.

Além de tudo isso, conta como foi seu reencontro com Nigel Mansell e o desenvolvimento da peça publicitária do Ford Fusion, além de responder perguntas dos alunos e professores.

Um registro nostálgico, uma viagem no tempo: Nico Hülkenberg chega ao Circuit Paul Ricard, dirigindo um 1977 Renault 16 TX, e no rádio, "Stayin' Alive" dos Bee Gees. Lá, encontra Alain Prost, que mostra em detalhes o 1983 Renault RE40, carro de Fórmula 1 com um motor 1.5 V6 Turbo que produz 750 CV de potência.

Nico embarca no carro, já na pista. Nisso, chega Franck Montagny, a bordo do 1977 Renault RS01, que também possui um propulsor 1.5 V6 Turbo, mas que debita 500 CV de potência. Ambos arrancam na linha de partida para algumas voltas rápidas.

Enquanto Montagny se diverte ao volante, Hülkenberg tem problemas, principalmente com a transmissão, cujas marchas custavam a entrar, e a embreagem ralou a sua perna. No fim, todos saem satisfeitos. Assista ao final das 500 Milhas de Indianápolis 2017 com a narração da TV japonesa


A centésima-primeira edição das 500 Milhas de Indianápolis teve ingredientes típicos da prova mais famosa do automobilismo mundial: acidentes espetaculares, anti-clímaxes e a vitória de um piloto que não costuma fazer frente durante sua carreira.

Este ano, quem bebeu leite na victory lane e beijou os tijolos foi Takuma Sato, que fez uma corrida estratégica, teve sua dose de sorte e soube segurar a pressão de Hélio Castroneves nas voltas finais.

Agora, empolgante mesmo foi a alegria do narrador e dos comentaristas da emissora japonesa Gaora Sports. A felicidade deles é contagiante, e não há como não ser contraído por ela.

É uma pena que poucos assistiram a isto na terra nipônica, já que a corrida aconteceu, pelo horário local, na madrugada de domingo para segunda.
