Now... 100,000-mile test shows Ford pickups can give you more miles of reliable performance. If you want to know just how reliable a truck can be, read this: A group of the nation's leading indepen-dent research engineers has just completed an intensive performance test. They ran five Ford pickups and two Econoline vans over city streets, rough gravel roads and high-speed highways. Ran them light, ran them loaded. Ran them night and day for 100,000 miles per truck. The results were truly remarkable. In the total run-700,000 miles in all—no transmissions, clutches or brakes required overhaul or replacement. Two of the seven engines went the full 100,000 miles with-out having their heads removed! Even more remarkable is Ford's record of long-run economy: the average running costs for the five Ford pickups—including gas, oil, tires, preventive maintenance and repairs, charged at regular retail prices—was only 3.2 cents per mile! Put a new Ford on your job and see how sound design and rugged construction can keep costs down... give you reliable performance mile after mile after mile! '63 FORD TRUCKS FORD ECONOLINE VAN RAN 100,000 MILES FOR ONLY 2.7 CENTS PER MILE! Econoline vans demon-strated more than tough-ness in 100,000 miles. Running costs of only 2.7 cents per mile showed they can cut costs on al-most any delivery run. See your Ford Dealer! Now at Ford Dealers—a com-plete record of all running costs for 100,000 miles! Life insurance experts prove... Ford trucks last up to 19.6% longer!

Life insurance experts prove... Ford trucks last up to 19.6% longer! And that's proof of lower ownership costs... right from the start! Longer life and more economy go hand in hand! A truck that lasts longer naturally co,ts less to own every year of its life! Take Ford Trucks! Of the five sales leaders, they last up to 19.6% longer! Wolfe, Corcoran and Linder, noted New York life insurance actuaries, assembled the records of all trucks of the five sales leaders registered from 1933 through 1941... 4,967,000 trucks in all. Then they pre-pared truck life-expectancy tables the same way that they prepare life-expectancy tables for human beings. These impartial life-expectancy tables show conclusively that Ford Trucks actually outlast the other four sales leaders by as much as 19.6%. And that's because Ford, maker of more trucks than any other manufacturer, knows how to build trucks to last longer! See your Ford Dealer's life-expectancy chart, and you'll see why it'll pay you to place your order right now for a Ford... the truck that lasts longer! HOW FORD TRUCKS PAY OFF FOR YOU! Your truck must produce or perish. The truck which can haul for you longer than others is the truck which can do the job better... more 'economically... more reliably. Life insurance experts prove Ford Trucks stay on the job up to 19.6% longer than the other four sales leaders.

"Oh Dear!" "Yeah, a Deer!" "Like a Horse With Horns!"

Austria 2001: Juan Pablo Montoya and the deer Video Thumbnail

Eye Tracking on an F1 car Video Thumbnail

BMW. The Sport Of Thinking.

THE SPORT OF THINKING. At BMW we have a definite attitude to motor racing. We would rather return from the track with an innovation than with a trophy. For to us. every race is an opportunity to test a theory or improve a component Every car we build for the track is an experiment in automotive technology. And every lesson we learn on the track we apply directly to our production cars. We believe d is this philosophy that distinguishes a car that carries the BMW symbol from all others. For while others regard factors such as peak performance and superlative manoeuvrability as desirable, to us they are absolutely compulsory. But perhaps even more impor-tant than our commitment to research and technological innovation is our intrinsic certainty that without individual brilliance and disciplined creativity, cars such as the 318i. the 323i. 520i, 528i. and the 735i would never have seen the light of day. Let alone produce the sheer pleasure experienced by those who drive them. These demands on the creative capacities of our designers are the most important reasons for our involvement in motor sport When we are asked what we think about sport we reply Thinking is our sport THE ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE
