Automaker reveals new interior option for RC F and GS F performance vehicles

TORRANCE, Calif. (March 31, 2016)—When it comes to performance cars, few things are more important than the connection between driver and vehicle. For luxury automaker Lexus, the continuous pursuit to enhance this connection even includes venturing outside the automotive world for new solutions.

Today, Lexus is introducing its latest performance feature: Variable Load Coupling Rear Orientation (V-LCRO), a proprietary technology that enhances performance by allowing the driver to take turns more aggressively while significantly reducing movement across the back and seat.

O piloto Tristan Herbert, da Tristan Herbert Racing, durante a primeira etapa da temporada 2016 da Historic Trans-Am, que serviu de suporte às 12 Horas de Sebring, quando se aproximou da curva sete, ficou sem freios, passando reto pela área de escape.

Com o carro desgovernado, não restou outra alternativa, a não ser tentar conduzir o veículo até ele parar. Só que, como ele vinha muito rápido, o embalo foi suficiente para arrebentar um portão e parar no meio da estrada de acesso ao circuito.

E o que aconteceu depois? Bem, o piloto teve que retornar à pista com seu carro de corrida, pelo mesmo trajeto que os motoristas percorrem com seus veículos de passeio.

E o condutor daquele caminhão deve ter pensado: "imagine se eu gasto dois segundos a mais para escovar meus dentes...".

O programa "Dateline", da emissora de televisão australiana SBS, traça o caminho que a jovem Yeon-Mi Park e sua família tomaram para escapar da Coreia do Norte. Durante o trajeto, teve que enterrar o corpo do pai às escondidas, na calada da noite.

"Não havia ninguém que eu pudesse chamar para ajudar, ninguém foi ao funeral de meu pai", disse Yeon-Mi Park. Seu pai era um membro do partido, e havia sido condenado a 17 anos de trabalho forçado, por contrabandear mercadorias para a China e vendê-las no mercado negro.

Depois de uma jornada de dois anos, e presumindo que sua irmã havia morrido no caminho dos fugitivos do regime norte-coreano, Yeon-Mi finalmente chega a Seul.

Agora, vivendo na Coreia do Sul, Yeon-Mi Park comanda um programa infantil, "On My Way To Meet You", que mostra de forma bem-humorada o regime totalitário criado por Kim Il-Sung e administrado pela dinastia Kim. Com isso, tornou-se uma celebridade.

"É claro que tudo que é mostrado oficialmente sobre a Coreia do Norte é apenas propaganda, eles não querem que as pessoas saibam da verdade, os bastidores são realmente horríveis", disse Yeon-Mi Park.
