Torrance, Calif., Feb. 5, 2016 -- The 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid will drive into all the game-day action this Sunday with two humorous 30-second commercials on ESPN Deportes' Spanish language telecast of Super Bowl 50.

Centering on the theme "same old story," the campaign aims to spur people on to create original and exciting new stories with the RAV4 Hybrid as their enabler. In the spots "Lullaby" and "Gathering" – developed by Toyota's Hispanic agency, Conill – viewers encounter individuals sharing their same old story with a friend, while those around them either fall asleep or finish their sentences because its all too familiar.

Um grande número de desafios de engenharia encarados pelos que desenvolvem motores a combustão interna envolvem um único fator: o atrito. Vários anos foram gastos para criar superfícies, revestimentos, rolamentos e óleos que reduzissem a fricção.

Já o sistema de lubrificação, a forma mais básica de reduzir o atrito, que é a distribuição uniforme de uma quantidade suficiente de óleo limpo, não mudou muito nos últimos 80 anos. Por isto, este vídeo educacional, criado em 1937 por Henry Jamison "Jam" Handy, é atemporal.

O vídeo, chamado "Riding the Film", começa mostrando várias pessoas andando sobre esquis na neve e patinando no gelo. Qual a semelhança disso com o funcionamento de um motor a combustão? Em ambos os casos, há a presença de atrito.

Assim, o filme explica como é possível esquiar sobre a neve, patinar sobre o gelo e fazer um motor funcionar: eliminando o atrito, através da lubrificação. Nos primeiros dois casos, através da água congelada. Já no último, é usado o óleo lubrificante.

A agência emitiu a Joe Nguyen, proprietário de um carro elétrico produzido por Elon Musk, uma multa no valor de 15.000 dólares singapurenses, por entender que o carro está no ranking dos maiores poluidores do meio ambiente.

Joe Nguyen gastou vários meses tentando importar para Singapura um Tesla Model S P90D que ele comprou em Hong Kong. Depois de passar tanto trabalho, nem passava pela sua cabeça que a Secretaria de Transportes local iria multá-lo por seu carro poluir demais, mesmo sem possuir sistema de exaustão.

Toda esta história não soa contraditória? Bem, então precisamos entender mais a fundo as razões que levaram a agência a chegar a esta conclusão.
