Shift into awesome. The new 5-speed Datsun Turbo ZX. Quick. So quick, this fuel-injected whirlwind can reach the legal limit before you can finish reading this sentence. So effortless, mere flicks of the new 5-speed shifter smoothly boost you to cruise velocity. So surefooted, you surge confidently through curves on a combination of 15-inch Potenza radials and precisely tuned suspension. So luxurious, the cockpit borders on opulence: T-bar roof, 4-speaker digital stereo/cassette and integrated air conditioning are but a few of its standards - all built to Nissan standards. In 2-seater and 2+2, the Turbo ZX is awesome... and then some. Datsun. We are driven. Product of Nissan.

US$ 2,350 for a Datsun Wagon. And the two extra doors don't cost a thing.

US$ 2,350 for a Datsun Wagon. And the two extra doors don't cost a thing. The whole idea of a station wagon is to have a car that can haul things. Even big, clumsy things. Any station wagon that makes it hard to get those things in and out is missing the point. That's why our wagon is built the way it is. There arefive doors on the Datsun wagon, and three of them lead to the load compartment. That's more accessibility than you'll find on a lot of other wagons in our price range. Even more than on most panel trucks.
We wouldn't have it any other way. We don't believe in cutting down on necessities like those two extra doors. In fact, we don't even believe in cutting down on the non-necessities. Fully reclining bucket seats, for instance. And disc brakes, and nylon carpeting, tinted glass, even whitewall tires. They're all standard equip-ment. They're all part of the deal at $2,350.* So if you want a wagon with accessibility try this: Drive a Datsun...then decide.
And the two extra doors don't cost a thing.

Beware the asterisk. It may be the most expensive thing on your next car. Drive a Datsun... then decide.

Beware the asterisk

it may be the most expensive thing on your next car.
On a price sticker its only about this big But it can cover a lot of fine print. Like a low 'P.O.E.' price. This is the price at the port of entry. But you don't buy a car at the P.O.E. price. The asterisk can cover extra-cost equipment you thought was in-cluded in the base price. Whitewalls, full vinyl upholstery and carpeting, for instance. On some cars those items are extra and they can add up to a lot of money you hadn't counted on.
Not on a Datsun. Our asterisk means: Plus tax, license, local freight and dealer preparation. It means you get things like fully re-clining bucket seats, tinted glass, front disc brakes, without paying more money. Even luxury touches like a tach, radio ' and electric antenna in our 240-Z. Our cars deliver complete. So the sneaky asterisk isn't sneaky at Datsun. We keep it small because it has nothing to hide. Drive a Datsun... then decide.

Your average American dummy. We at Datsun call him Homer.

Your average American dummy

We call him Homer.
He's one of a kind. But there are millions of us Americans built pretty much like him. We put him together with care and purpose. Took his measure in every position. We wanted to make sure all our cars would handle Homer with the greatest of ease. Homer's feet fit our pedals. So when you press on the safety front disc brakes, or push in the clutch to shift one of our all-synchromesh 4-speeds, or punch one of our overhead cam engines, it's a no-fumble-foot operation. Homer doesn't clobber his knees relaxing on our front buckets and rear bench seats. We build our Sedans and
Wagon to haul four Homerswith plentyof head and shoulder room. We're impressed by just how big Americans are. Our steering wheels and safety recessed switches all fit Homer's hands and fingers. So does the col-umn control on the smooth, fully automatic ,e--D 3-speed transmsiesas ttnacks and headrests are Homer-height for maximum com fort and safety. And he gets a panoramic view through all the Datsun windows. Easy in and out through wide doors. We had to adjust all seven Datsun models to fit Homer. He gave as a pretty bad time You'll be glad he did.

Daytona. Datsun sweeps the field.

Talk about domination—the Datsun Track Star swamped the field at Daytona. Seven out of the first 8 spots in Class D Production at the 1969 American Road Race of Champions (ARRC). Just what you might expect from a real sports car. Because the stock 2000 has real sports car handling. Real sports car power from a 135 HP "OHC" engine for a 124 MPH top and 0-60 in 9.3 seconds. Real sports car response from an all-synchro 5-speed that Stirling Moss rates... "Really good—the speed with which one could change gears was only limited by the speed of one’s hand." Add classic lines. Body-fit buckets. vinyl upholstery, carpets, locking console... even a radio among $300 in no-charge extras. You’ve got a luxury GT that blasts backroads and breezes freeways. The ARRC champ 2000—and its little brother—Datsun 1600. Real sports cars for people who must drive a winner. Driva a Datsun… then decide. Datsun: Sedans, Wagon, Pickup, Sports cars
