O Howmet TX (Turbine eXperimental) é um protótipo criado em 1968 pelo piloto Ray Heppenstall, para testar uma turbina a gás projetada para o uso aéreo em uma competição automobilística.

O chassis do carro foi produzido pela McKee Engineering. Já a turbina aérea foi emprestada pela Continental Aviation & Engineering, e o financiamento do projeto foi dado pela Howmet Corporation.

Embora não tenha sido a primeira tentativa de usar um motor aéreo em um carro de corrida, o Howmet TX foi o primeiro e até hoje é o único a vencer uma corrida, e conquistou um total de duas vitórias em corridas da Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) e dois primeiros lugares em provas de qualificação, tudo isto no único ano no qual disputou onze corridas.
