Toyota Camatte Concept Car: este criança também pode dirigir!

Na Feira Internacional de Brinquedos de Tóquio (International Tokyo Toy Show) de 2012, a Toyota revelou um carro-conceito chamado Camatte. Este carro permite que pais e filhos possam, além do óbvio de dirigi-lo, customizar toda a parte externa. Este veículo é uma ótima oportunidade para que crianças possam aprender e aperfeiçoar suas habilidades como motoristas.

O Camatte possui uma carroceria muito simples, e suas partes são facilmente removíveis. O interior se caracteriza pela disposição triangular dos bancos, facilitando a comunicação entre adulto e crianças, para que quem esteja dirigindo possa interagir melhor nos ensinamentos de aceleração, frenagem e direção.

A Toyota alerta que crianças só possam dirigir o Camatte em locais fechados, como pistas de kart.

Em uma entrevista bastante divertida e engraçada, o piloto Sebastian Vettel falou com David Letterman a respeito de sua carreira na Fórmula 1, da quase ausência de ultrapassagens na categoria com relação a outras categorias, explicou o funcionamento do KERS e sobre o fato de precisar ter "bolas grandes" para pilotar no novo circuito de rua de New Jersey.

Além disso, são mostradas imagens da primeira vez em que andou de kart, quando tinha três anos e meio.

Ferrari SP12 EC

Não basta ter uma Ferrari: ela deve ser exclusiva. Essa regra só vale para alguns clientes mais do que especiais da marca, por isso ela construiu e divulgou algumas fotos do modelo SP12 EC, carro desenvolvido especialmente ao músico Eric Clapton, um dos mais fieis clientes da montadora italiana. A criação ficou de responsabilidade do Centro Stile Ferrari, em colaboração com o estúdio Pininfarina.

O carro usou como base uma 458 Italia, com linhas que remetem à 512 BB (Berlinetta Boxer), modelo da Ferrari produzido entre o final dos anos 1970 e início dos 1980, do qual Eric teve três exemplares. A única coisa que está faltando neste carro são rodas vintage da HRE.

Não foram divulgados detalhes técnicos sobre o carro, mas especulações indicam que a SP12 EC usa o mesmo motor V8 4.5 da 458 Italia, apesar de Clapton supostamente ter pedido que colocassem um V12 6.0 no cofre do carro. Dessa forma, supõe-se que o propulsor é capaz de gerar 562 cavalos de potência, fazendo o carro acelerar da inércia aos 100 km/h em apenas 3,4 segundos, e a velocidade máxima seria de 325 km/h.

Designed by the Centro Stile Ferrari in collaboration with Pininfarina and the engineers from Maranello, the SP12 EC was created as homage to Clapton's career and his long lasting experience as a Ferrari owner.

The world-famous guitar player has been attached to one particular Ferrari model: the 512 BB, of which he has owned three over the years. So his desire was to drive a car inspired by this model, with influences from the multi-award winning 458 Italia. Exclusively in the latest issue of the Ferrari Official Magazine Eric Clapton talks about his passion and how the idea of a one-off car was born.

Meticulous attention in terms of style and technology was paid to the proportions and architecture of the SP12 EC - which is part of Ferrari's One-Off Programme – making this exceptional car even more significant. Just like music is created, applying the right notes in the right places to build a musical score, so was the creative process behind the SP12 EC.

For Eric Clapton, following the project through from what was, essentially, a blank canvas, was 'one of the most satisfying things I've ever done." Unique and irreproducible like the final car.

Sebastian Vettel Becomes First Formula One Star to Drive the New Jersey Circuit

NEW JERSEY, New York - Formula One World Champion Sebastian Vettel made Formula One history today by becoming the first F1 driver to sample the recently announced Grand Prix Circuit in New Jersey.

Following an inspired performance in the Canadian Grand Prix yesterday, the Red Bull Racing star and Infiniti Global Brand Ambassador drove the street circuit in an Infiniti IPL G Coupe road car ahead of the highly anticipated Grand Prix of America, due to take place in 2013.

Vettel was joined by former Grand Prix winner David Coulthard as the pair completed a number of passenger rides against the iconic Manhattan skyline, set to be a major feature of the race next year.

Leo Hindery, Race Promoter and Keith St. Clair, Director-Infiniti USA Marketing Communications and Media joined Sebastian for a press conference following the demonstration drives.

Commenting on the event, Sebastian Vettel said: "It's been fantastic to be the first to drive the new circuit. I was able to get some good speed up in the Infiniti and it's clear that it is going to be a big challenge in a Formula One car. With such a great setting too, I can't wait to get back here and race in 2013."

Leo Hindery added: "Sebastian got a taste of what racing around the Port Imperial course will be like at 200 miles an hour. We can't wait to host him and the world's other elite drivers with the world's greatest city in the background."
