Fernando Alonso, o piloto das Astúrias, manipulava o volante de direção dos Renault R25 e R26 de forma peculiar durante as temporadas da Fórmula 1 de 2005 e 2006. Ele fazia o seu carro sair de frente, o famoso understeer, de maneira bastante agressiva, uma técnica nunca antes vista na categoria.
