A Gooding & Company anunciou seus planos de leiloar um 1997 McLaren F1 GTR Longtail. O carro de competição possui um motor BMW 6.0 V12 que produz 604 CV de potência.

A unidade foi da equipe BMW Works Motorsport Team, que, com os pilotos J.J. Lehto e Steve Soper, venceu corridas em Helsinki e Hockenheim.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (December 18, 2013) – Gooding & Company is thrilled to announce that an exceptional collector competition car has been added to its Scottsdale Auctions on January 17 and 18. The most successful 1997 McLaren F1 GTR Longtail, 021R, finished in stunning white, blue and red FINA livery (estimate: $5,000,000-7,000,000) will proudly drive over Gooding & Company’s auction stage as one of many premier offerings. The auction commences at 11 a.m. at Scottsdale Fashion Square each day.

Enthusiasts the world over recognize McLaren’s F1 GTR as a stunning example of racing technology and timeless design. Competition McLarens rarely appear for public sale and 021R is no exception. This car was the first GTR Longtail race winner with accolades including wins at Hockenheim and Helsinki, as well as several other podium finishes. This car was campaigned by the Works BMW Motorsport Team and raced by star drivers J.J. Lehto and Steve Soper.

The GTR Longtail, 021R, is being offered from a significant private collection in its original factory-delivered form with iconic FINA livery. With limited owners from new, this highly sought-after GTR Longtail will arrive at auction having been restored by McLaren and maintained by Lanzante Ltd. This race prepped supercar marks a significant opportunity in today’s market.

Additional high performance factory race and road cars that will be featured during the 2014 Scottsdale Auctions include a 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO (estimate: $1,250,000-1,600,000), a 1973 Alpine A110 1800 (estimate: $300,000-400,000) and a 1980 BMW M1 (estimate: $400,000-500,000), among others.
