Renault Mégane RS 250 Monaco Grand Prix Limited Edition

Esta edição especial do Renault Mégane RS 250, inspirada nas ruas do principado de Monte Carlo, terá 50 unidades produzidas. O carro tem preço sugerido de 48.990 dólares.

Por fora, pintura perolizada na cor branca e acabamento em preto nos espelhos retrovisores, difusor traseiro e nos faróis de neblina. O modelo possui rodas de 19 polegadas, teto solar panorâmico, freios Brembo com pinças em vermelho e faróis direcionais de duplo xênon.

No interior, o acabamento também é em preto, com detalhes em branco no console central, portas e maçanetas. Os bancos esportivos receberam o logo "Monaco GP". Sob o capô, o propulsor é o mesmo usado nos modelos da divisão esportiva da Renault: um 2.0 quatro cilindros que gera 250 CV de potência e 34 mkgf de torque.

Renault Sport pays homage to the iconic Monaco GP circuit and the glamour of Monaco with a luxury limited edition of the award-winning Mégane R.S. 250. The Mégane R.S. 250 Monaco Grand Prix Limited Edition.

Aimed at fans of elegance, sport and style, the Mégane R.S. 250 Monaco GP will be available in Australia and more than a dozen markets worldwide. Just 50 examples will be offered for sale here, each individually numbered.

The Mégane R.S. 250 Monaco GP is finished in an eye-catching pearlescent white paint, underlining its luxurious and exclusive status. The dynamic and powerful exterior is accentuated by piano black treatments for the side mirrors, rear diffuser and fog-lamp surrounds. There are black headlight masks and Monaco GP badges on the flanks.

Luxury is the key to the Mégane R.S. 250 Monaco GP. For the first time, integrated satellite navigation is available on a Mégane R.S. 250. The passenger-centric approach delivers stylish, electric-adjusting, leather-covered, heated Monaco GP sport seats, which cosset and cushion the driver and passenger alike. The centre console, dash-strip and door handles feature white cabin details; while the seats and floor mats receive exclusive Monaco GP stitching.

Adding to the comfort of the cabin is the extensive fixed glass roof (complete with shade cover) that bathes the cabin in welcome daylight. The Mégane R.S. 250 Monaco GP will also be fitted with 19" alloy wheels, 4-pot Brembo® brake with red callipers, and bi-xenon directional headlights.

The Mégane R.S. 250 Monaco GP has a recommended retail price of $48,990 (excluding dealer delivery and statutory charges).

Like all Mégane Renault Sport models, the Monaco GP Limited Edition is powered by a 184 kW (250 hp) four-cylinder 2.0-litre engine, producing 340 Nm of torque at just 3,000 rpm.

Commenting on the latest edition to the Renault Sport family, Justin Hocevar, Managing Director Renault Australia, said, "The award-winning Mégane R.S. 250 has already become an instant classic in Australia and I am sure this exclusive limited edition will follow suit.

"This incredibly luxurious version of the Mégane R.S. 250 will appeal to lovers of hot hatches who don't want to compromise on their everyday creature comforts. The snug and cosy Monaco GP sport seats will win over even the most a sceptical spouse.

To coincide with the launch of the Mégane R.S. 250 Monaco GP, Renault is announcing it will extend the factory warranty on all Renault Sport models purchased as of 27th August, 2011 to 3-years/unlimited kms.

O primeiro pneu auto-calibrável para bicicletas?

Parece que a PumpTire conseguiu desenvolver um pneu para bicicletas que não precisa ser calibrado. A ideia do conceito é que o movimento da roda pressione pequenas "mangueiras" que "assoprem" ar para uma válvula especial, e removível, que serve para calibrar o pneu da forma convencional e também regular a pressão desejada quando estiver com a bicicleta em movimento, com um mecanismo externo (bomba manual ou compressor).

Esta válvula direcionaria o ar para uma câmara, também especial para o sistema, mantendo constante a pressão do pneu. Dois modelos de pneus estão em desenvolvimento, o City Cruiser (26 x 1.5 pol, 65 psi) e o City Pro High Performance (700c x 28mm, 65 a 95 psi).

A PumpTire pretende arrecadar 250 mil dólares até o dia 5 de outubro para viabilizar a fase inicial do projeto. Só resta saber se a falta de borracha na parte central da banda de rodagem do pneu vai afetar a performance da bicicleta.
