The 20th Anniversary Trans Am. The Only Modification It Needed To Pace The Indy 500 Was A Decal.
The field at this year's Indianapolis 500 will roar down to the green and into history behind one of only 1,500 very special 20th Anniversary Trans Anus. The fastest T/As ever built. Any one of these power players could be tagged for the job because all were built with exactly the same powertrain hardware. As a result of a superb engineering partnership between Pontiac and PAS, Inc., no special Indy modifications were needed. We're talking about a turbo-intercooled 3.8L V6 engine that thumps out 250 hp and 340 lbs ft of torque under 16.5 lbs of boost. A cross-drilled crank, specific pistons, cylinder heads and intercooler make for on-time delivery. Heavy-duty systems for coolant and oil temperature control are in there, too. So is a specially calibrated four-speed automatic transmission, Level III suspension, vented heavy-duty front disc brake rotors and twin-piston calipers. Special electronics manage the output for 0-to-60 times under 5.5 seconds on a test track with a professional driver. Inside, the creature comforts include fully articulating bucket seats and a high-performance stereo system. Outside, there's special enameled bodging on a monochromatic body of Trans Am white. Um registro nostálgico, uma viagem no tempo: Nico Hülkenberg chega ao Circuit Paul Ricard, dirigindo um 1977 Renault 16 TX, e no rádio, "Stayin' Alive" dos Bee Gees. Lá, encontra Alain Prost, que mostra em detalhes o 1983 Renault RE40, carro de Fórmula 1 com um motor 1.5 V6 Turbo que produz 750 CV de potência.

Nico embarca no carro, já na pista. Nisso, chega Franck Montagny, a bordo do 1977 Renault RS01, que também possui um propulsor 1.5 V6 Turbo, mas que debita 500 CV de potência. Ambos arrancam na linha de partida para algumas voltas rápidas.

Enquanto Montagny se diverte ao volante, Hülkenberg tem problemas, principalmente com a transmissão, cujas marchas custavam a entrar, e a embreagem ralou a sua perna. No fim, todos saem satisfeitos. Carl Webb e sua esposa, que são de Memphis, Tennessee, saíram do Barbecue Fest, na quinta-feira passada (18/05/2017), entraram em seu Ford Taurus, e transitaram por 22 km, até perceberem que havia um homem dormindo sobre a tampa do porta-malas!

Webb disse à emissora Fox 13 que estava escuro e o guarda-sol do vidro traseiro estava cobrindo a visão do retrovisor interno. Só quando um policial ordenou que o motorista parasse é que ele se deu conta do que estava ocorrendo.

Motociclista recebe fechada, bate na traseira de carro e para em cima do vidro traseiro

MOTORCYCLE CUT OFF ON LOS ANGELES FREEWAY Video Thumbnail

Um motociclista do sul da Califórnia estava pilotando sua Harley Davidson Fat Bob pela Hollywood Freeway 170 de Los Angeles, na hora do rush, quando teve sua frente cortada por um Toyota Camry, que mudou de faixa em local proibido.

O piloto acionou a embreagem e o freio traseiro, travando a roda motriz. Não foi possível parar a motocicleta, e acabou batendo na traseira do carro. O piloto foi projetado da moto e parou em cima da tampa do porta-malas do sedã, e teve que dar murros no vidro traseiro para o motorista do carro se dar conta de que houve um acidente naquele momento e que ele estava envolvido no mesmo.
